Barbados Telecommunications Unit, Division of Energy and Telecommunications, Prime Minister's Office, sponsored a week of activities to celebrate the WTISD, May 17, 2013. The theme as mandated by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), "ICTs and Improving Road Safety" was highlighted during the week through the following activities. 1. Government Information Service Radio Program, Opportunity Calls aired on all radio stations daily during the week. The Deputy Chief Telecommunications Officer, Clifford Bostic, spoke about the ITU, Telecoms Unit and the theme "ICTs and Improving Road Safety". 2.
